Cell Phones and Pagers

Our priority is to preserve an interruption and distraction free learning environment for all.

Many of us have been interrupted in conversations, meetings, concerts, and other venues with cell phone calls, and the distraction is frustrating.

Please be aware of the following LMS guidelines for the upcoming school year.   Consequences will be given to students who violate the school guidelines.

·        Cell phones/pagers must be turned off during the school day.   This applies to instructional and non-instructional times such as lunch, class change, etc.   (Please note that simply turning a phone or pager to silent does not comply with this guideline).

·        Cell phones/pagers are not to be used on the bus ride to or from school.

Parents, please carefully consider whether or not your child needs a cell phone or pager at school.    We have a phone available to students in the front office should they need to make a call.  Also, your child will have to secure the cell phone during the day in their locker or backpack.   Should your child bring one of these items to school, please be aware that there is some risk that it may be lost or misplaced by your child.  The school cannot be responsible for replacing a lost or stolen item.

Cell phones and pagers can be a convenience or a distraction.   Please assist us by following the guidelines set forth and carefully considering your child’s need for a cell phone or pager at school.
