Dear Parents and Potential Cheerleaders:

WELCOME to the Cheerleading Program page here at Lilburn Middle School.

You will find information pertaining to the cheerleading program and try outs for the 2009-2010 Basketball Season.  Please be advised that all students must be an 8th grade student in good standings academically and behaviorally before they can try out or become a Cheerleader in the Gwinnett County Middle School Cheerleading program

Lilburn’s practices are held for Try Outs generally when the Basketball Season begins in the month of October.   After the Tryouts and once the Cheerleaders are selected, practices will be held on a weekly basis. Cheerleaders are expected to attend cheering practices on Mondays through Thursdays from 4:30 – 6:00 PM each week unless there is a scheduled game.

All Cheerleaders are expected to attend each day of practice as well as each scheduled game. The practices are required so as to build strong dynamics for each team member. If in the event a student misses a practice, it is the student’s responsibility to learn anything that they miss.

The LMS Cheerleader’s attendance at all games is required.

Please be advised that before students can tryout or become an LMS Cheerleader, they must:

1.      Complete an Athletic Physical and return the completed Athletic Physical form to the Cheerleading Coach. (See the 8th Grade Academy Office)

2.      Provide proof of insurance or complete the insurance forms attached to the Athletic Physical application. (See the Athletic Form)

3.      Complete and sign a permission slip for participation. (See form attached)

4.      Return all completed forms to the Cheerleading Coach.

In closing, please note that students are encouraged to arrange all communication and transportation methods before the Cheerleading Practices and/or Try Outs begin. There may not always be a phone available to use for calling.

Thank you for your interest and support in the Cheerleading Program at LMS!

Yours In Cheering,

 LMS Cheerleading Coach Staff
